Introduction

The OnePlus 13R is the firm's 2025 response to fans who demand flagship muscle without the four-figure bill. The design language is unmistakable from the moment you take it out of the box: a 6.78-inch flat ProXDR LTPO AMOLED that fills the front, with a razor-sharp resolution of 2780 x 1264 and a variable refresh rate of 1 Hz for static reading, zooming up to 120 Hz for frantic gaming. Peak HDR brightness, meanwhile, now hits a retina-sizzling 4,500 nits, so even sunlight in the middle of the day on a Mediterranean beach won't wash out your Netflix stream. Gorilla Glass 7i is edge-to-edge, and the frame is a matte aluminum that doesn't collect greasy fingerprints.

Under the glass lies Qualcomm's Snapdragon 8 Gen 3, its Cortex-X4 prime core clocked at an insane 3.3 GHz backed by an Adreno 730 GPU that plows through Genshin Impact at 60 fps on high. Thermal Solution Thermal is managed by a 9 800 mm2 very large vapor-chamber plate winding around the back of the motherboard which captivates the board against average heat of 42°C to sustain extreme benchmarks. Memory goes from 12 GB to 16 GB of LPDDR5X RAM, storage tiers go from 256 GB to a spacious 512 GB of UFS 4.0 — both of which load apps so fast, the phone is faster than the animations and often ends up finishing its animations before your thumb has left the icon.

Photography takes a three-pronged approach. It packs a 50 MP Sony LYT-700 main sensor with f/1.8 aperture, OIS, side by side with a 50 MP Samsung GN5 sensor that sits behind a 2 x optical telephoto and an 8 MP ultra-wide that goes to 120°. A new “Lightning HDR 3” pipeline, meanwhile, captures as many as 14 RAW frames to enhance shadow and highlight detail in computational photos. To the front, a 16 MP punch-hole camera is ready to snap selfies and 4 K vlogs with electronic stabilization.
