For buyers who desire sophisticated camera features and consistent performance but aren't tempted to upgrade to the larger Pro Max, Apple iPhone 18 Pro offers definitive improvements to its flagship lineup. It features a 6.3-inch Super Retina XDR OLED screen, with a maximum outdoor brightness set at 3,000 nits, 460ppi resolution, Adaptive ProMotion up to 120Hz and Always On screen. All that with a smaller Dynamic Island, giving more room for content with Face ID and Live Activities still available.

Apple's A20 Pro chip inside comes with a six-core CPU, seven-core GPU, dual 16-core Neural Engine and six chips fabricated on a 2-nm process. The GPU is up to 40 percent faster than the A19 Pro, and a vastly reworked vapor chamber with three times the surface area will enhance sustained performance, Apple says. These modifications are not only driven by tougher games, video editing and artificial intelligence on the device, but are also intended to enhance longer benchmark bursts.

The punching cut in the camera system is a 48-megapixel Fusion Main camera with a variable aperture ranging from f/1.48 to f/4. It can limit the amount of light reaching the sensor, and adjust the optical depth of field, which adds another layer of flexibility to the portrait and low-light modes for the camera compared to one with a fixed aperture. The rear camera system also includes a 48-megapixel ultra-wide-angle lens and a 48-megapixel telephoto lens that supports 4x optical zoom. The front camera has 18 million pixels and supports the "Center Stage" function, which can automatically adjust the viewfinder to accommodate multiple people.

In terms of battery life, this device supports up to 36 hours of video playback. According to Apple, with the right charging device, wired charging can charge the battery to 50% in about 15 minutes. The body adopts an integrated design of aluminum metal, offering four color options: black, silver, glacier color and burgundy. The storage capacity ranges from 256GB to 2TB. The starting price of iPhone 18 Pro is $1,199. It is a high-end model that focuses on imaging functions. Whether its value matches its high price depends on the extent to which users recognize the new control methods, operating speed and battery life performance.
