LG Wing 5G is a novel smartphone in a market that has been knocked down by conventional design. In particular, LG Wing 5G released in October 2020, is an LG device under the Explorer Project which aims to bring innovations to LG’s mobile communication lineup. However the aspect that has attracted most people into this device is the flip or the rotate mechanism that creates an area for the main display to rotate 90 degrees to reveal a sub display beneath it. This is the T-shaped configuration that provides space for one more screen and innovative approaches to splitting work between apps.

It is equipped with 6.8 inches P-OLED primary screen and has 1080 x 2460 pixels resolution, on the second G-OLED display it is 3.9 inches. It opens up a couple of ways one might use the device: including gaming, video streaming, and multitasking in which users can open two applications jointly side by side or can use the second screen as a sort of gamepad while gaming or shooting videos. It is not only fashionable but also wearable, IP54 dust and water resistance, and MIL-STD-810G military standard durability.
LG Wing 5G is packed the Qualcomm Snapdragon 765G processor, 8GB RAM and 128GB internal storage with the microSD card support up to 2TB. It will be fitted to support both mmWave and sub-6 GHz 5G-meaning it’s future-proof for all intents and purposes. Still, for all its innovative design, critics have come after its performance relative to other flagships.
Where it really stands out is in the camera system: a triple-rear camera configuration, including a 64MP primary sensor, a 13MP ultra-wide-angle lens, and the rather unusual 12MP ultra-wide "Big Pixel" camera-specifically designed to keep the device installed with gimbals during video shooting. The front sports a pop-up camera, 32MP in sensor size, together with a full-screen display without any notch or cutout to talk of.
Even such a unique set of features and design appeared tough for LG Wing 5G to get accepted by people and compete with conventional smartphones. At the time LG announced its departure from the smartphone business in early 2021, the Wing was one of the last flagship devices the company ever made, leaving fans wondering about its future support and even viability in such competitive space, where everything seems to be evolving.
