For quite some time, Sony Xperia series has been highly admired for its audio and video capabilities, and Sony Xperia 1 VI raises the stakes with a lot of new features that offer value to the user.
First impressions of Sony Xperia 1 VI, at least in theory, retain the sleek, premium look of the predecessor series but with subtle, impactful changes. The dimensions are 162×74 mm and weigh just 192 grams, making it light and comfortable to hold. Textured Gorilla Glass not only adds to the elegance but also ensures that the grip is strong enough to allow users to go about their daily activities with confidence without the fear of an accidental drop.

Probably the most pronounced change is in the screen resolution. While the predecessors were 4K displays, Sony Xperia 1 VI settles for Full HD+ with 1080 x 2340 pixels. Of course, this move has brought a lot of debate among its fans since many are eager to know whether it was worth sacrificing resolution for efficiency. However, Sony follows through with assurance that this new LTPO OLED panel actually supports a variable refresh rate of 1-120Hz and hits a peak brightness of as high as 1,300 nits, 50% brighter than before, so to say for different scenarios regarding lighting conditions.
The camera system also sees significant enhancements, especially in the case of optical zoom. Sony Xperia 1 VI has a telephoto lens starting from 85mm up to 170mm or, 3.5x to 7.1x optical zoom which provides those various focal lengths in between. Hence, with this innovation, Sony Xperia 1 VI makes itself as one of the top mobile photography cameras for the everyday photographers, and indeed, professionals.
When you put all these upgrades and refinements together, what Sony Xperia 1 VI is, is not actually a phone, it is a metaphor for a statement Sony is making to the world of mobile technology: they are willing to set new parameters for what mobile technology can offer, while still maintaining quality and performance.
