Alcatel Idol 5S is a beautiful looking device, and it is based on a black glass and metal chassis which is premium-feeling in hand. Its bezels are so trim, the display measures 5.2 inches while the device never becomes unwieldy with a single hand. It comes with a metal body with glass on either side, hence it has quite a durable build.
It offers and provides a well behaved and excellent display which is bright, multi-colored and has enough value. The color of the display is correct, it can help you go though the web page smoothly, watch the video without congestion, what’s more, play the video games fluently. The glass of the display is strong enough to protect your phone, therefore, there is no need to worry, and one more thing that you have no need to worry is that it won’t be scratched easily.
Inside of this phone, it is equipped with strong processor, although it is not the best chipset, it can offer you a nice phone experience like the champion one. The multi task management is seamless, a lot of apps are running like a dream. Besides, lots of software, photos and media space are waiting for you to explore.
For the cameras, the Idol 5S features a 12-megapixel rear-facing camera with phase detection autofocus and f/2.0 aperture. This will need the best sensors, but will perform well in decent lighting, and should produce some extremely nice, vibrant shots. There's fast, responsive autofocus, along with a huge variety of different modes and settings to experiment with to make the process feel a bit more fun. The 8-megapixel front-facing camera works well for selfies and video-calls, although low-light performance is a weakness.
Moving on to the battery here, it packs a 2850mAh non-removable battery that should get you through a full day of regular usage. That’s great and all on the battery side, but heavy users might have to make a mad dash for a charger midday. You also have support for fast charging, which is something of a nice-to-have feature, but one that can help to make a top-up in battery a quick experience when you need it. Idol 5S is also not shy when it comes to audio performance either, with dual front firing speakers that sound decent and get loud. So if you are watching a video or playing a game or listening to the music this is a good sound stage for such the device for the price range you have sound stage is pretty good and nice.
In brief, its premium build, vibrant display, decent performance and good audio for the form factor (and price) are hard to beat. It’s not the most refined software, and the hardware isn’t the most powerful — but this is a bare-bones device for users who seek muted styling along with utility. For someone who needs a good smartphone but doesn't want to fork out too much cash, I would like to recommend the Alcatel Idol 5S.
