Xiaomi Poco M7 Pro 5G is slim and not very heavy, size being only 162.4 x 75.7 x 8 mm and weighing 190 grams. Thanks to its IP64 status, the phone is not affected by water or splashes which makes it convenient to have in your daily activities. It comes with the most updated design, consisting of a punch-hole selfie camera and AMOLED screen which is shielded from scratches by Corning Gorilla Glass 5. The phones have different colors: Lavender Frost, Lunar Dust and Olive Twilight which look nice and offer useful functionalities.
The phone’s outstanding screen is a 6.67-inch AMOLED panel with a 120Hz refresh rate and 1080 x 2400 pixels. It features Dolby Vision and HDR10+, for great color depth, intense darks and deep contrast with a 5,000,000:1 ratio. Whether it is sunny or not, the screen remains clear to read because of its high peak brightness of 2100. Because of the 240Hz touch sampling rate, the screen responds much faster and without delays.

Xiaomi Poco M7 Pro 5G uses the MediaTek Dimensity 7025 Ultra chip which has an octa-core CPU made up of two A78 cores running at 2.5 GHz and six A55 cores running at 2.0 GHz. This arrangement allows you to multitask well, plus it provides good performance for routine things such as social media, watching videos and a bit of light gaming. IMG BXM-8-256 is the GPU, but it is not designed for using on the latest, fast-paced video games. The phone comes with three options for RAM and storage: 6GB/128GB, 8GB/256GB and 12GB/256GB, with everyone having the UFS 2.2 storage for quicker app opening and data access.
The camera system is one of the main reasons to consider Xiaomi Poco M7 Pro 5G. With its f/1.5 wide aperture, the PDAF feature and OIS, the 50 MP Sony IMX882 sensor allows users to get sharper images even in dim conditions. It’s a significant upgrade over Xiaomi Poco M6 Pro predecessor without OIS. In portrait mode, the 2 MP depth sensor functions as the secondary camera to make the background blur smoothly. Overall, it’s okay that the phone can record 1080p video at 30fps, but this is much less than the 4K most other phones offer. The front camera of this phone, at 20 MP, can capture 1080p videos and has HDR and panorama features for taking good pictures of yourself. The 30fps video recording frame rate may be limiting to others who need to record smoother video.
Its 5110 mAh battery gives Xiaomi Poco M7 Pro 5G a boost in terms of battery life. The tests indicate it can go well over 15 hours of constant web surfing and around 11 hours of video streaming, beating the majority of its competition with the same capacity of the battery. The phone can be charged within an hour due to the 45W fast charging capability. As the phone is designed for a lower price, wireless charging makes sense to be missing. Besides using it as a phone, the device can also reverse charge other gadgets when needed.
For all its capabilities, Xiaomi Poco M7 Pro 5G has some weak areas as well. The front and rear cameras only shoot 1080p at 30fps, which may be something of a letdown to users who prefer more frame rate or 4K video recording capabilities. The chipset, as powerful as it is, is also not gaming-grade, so occasional users who do game will have to do without as well. The phone also uses USB 2.0 as opposed to the quicker USB 3.0 standard, which has effects on data transfer speeds. Some may also miss wireless charging as well as the premium material build. And, of course, lack of NFC on region-wise models may prove to be off-putting to users who prefer contactless payments.
