Review

Snapdragon 8 Plus Gen 1 power is included with this model of Huawei P60 Pro which is a much better chip than the P50 Pro’s. Due to this chipset, the Antutu score jumped by 58% and the overall score surpassed one million, meaning games, multitasking or complicated tools feel smoother. With 12GB RAM and a maximum of 512GB for internal storage, the device ensures enough room and memory for even the most content-hungry users.

Huawei P60 Pro has a 6.67-inch screen with a Quad-curved LTPO OLED panel which is ultra-clear at 443 pixels every inch. The smoothness in the display is kept but the battery life is improved because the range is from 1Hz up to 120Hz. With 1440 Hz PWM dimming, the screen runs smoothly and effectively reduces eye fatigue when viewing it for long hours. The X-True technology on Huawei’s panels supplies highly accurate colors and detailed pictures to boost users’ experience.

No less remarkable is the device’s own design, prioritizing elegance and distinctiveness. Particularly noteworthy is the Rococo Pearl special edition finish, producing a unique pearlescent appearance in that no two handsets will be the same. Slightly curved sides and a slim form yield to natural hold and premium feel. Green, Violet, Black, and Rococo White are Huawei P60 Pro’s coloring options, pleasing a range of tastes.

The cameras on Huawei P60 Pro are led by the Ultra Aperture XMAGE technology. You can adapt the size of the lens on the 48MP Ultra Lighting Camera from F1.4 to F4.0 and it comes with an RYYB sensor to help the phone take outstanding low-light photos. Also, OIS stabilizes the image to put the final touches on making your pictures clearer. The 13MP Ultra-Wide Angle Camera provides even higher creative freedom with a 120-degree field of vision, while the 48MP Telephoto Camera provides up to 3.5x optical zoom with OIS to enable precise close-ups with no sacrifice in terms of quality.

Huawei’s Adaptive Aperture Technology automatically optimizes the aperture based on the surrounding illumination in order to achieve the best exposure and depth of field. There is a pro mode in the app too, where people can control 10 different apertures so that desired photo effects are achieved. It is a huge upgrade from the P50 Pro, be it in low-light conditions or in terms of zoom.

Huawei P60 Pro is equipped with a 4,815 mAh battery, an increase from the previous model, and in real-world usage lasts approximately 20% longer (19 hours 49 minutes versus 16 hours 31 minutes in the P50 Pro). Fast charging is through 88W wired SuperCharge, capable of charging 50% of the battery in 10 minutes, while 50W wireless charging allows easy topping-off. Reverse wireless charging at 7.5W also allows Huawei P60 Pro to be a power source to charge other compatible devices.

Where Huawei P60 Pro excels in most areas, in 5G connectivity it lags behind, instead falling back on 4G connectivity due to the Snapdragon 8 Plus Gen 1 4G chipset. This will be a drawback to those after future-proofing through 5G. And inasmuch as Huawei remains under sanction from Google Mobile Services, a number of the apps and services available in most Western countries are not natively supported, something that affects user experience in terms of region and app usage.
